I'm a former newspaper journalist/graphic artist. I'm currently working in the medical industry as a medical illustrator, animator and Web designer. I am the creator of downtownds.com, a Down syndrome news/info Web site, and Oz Squad, a Down syndrome advocacy group. I live in Durham, N.C.
I'm mainly a Photoshop artist, and I have worked extensively with the program since 1997. I created all of the images on this blog with some combination of Illustrator and Photoshop. I also use Poser and Lightwave (a 3D program), mostly when showing a full human body or when creating an illustration that shows the skeletal system. I work with lots of photographed textures and use creative layering, dodging and burning and painted highlights to create photorealistic effects.
